Die cyclischen Verbindungen mit mindestens einem Heteroatom im Ring (heterocyclisch) werden hier nicht behandelt, da es eine eigene Klassifizierung gibt .
Der Begriff " Gruppe " wird manchmal fälschlicherweise als Synonym für eine funktionelle Gruppe verwendet.
