Ithorots ist eine ehemalige französische Gemeinde im Département Pyrénées-Atlantiques . Zwischen 1790 und 1794 übernahm die Gemeinde Olhaïby , um die neue Gemeinde Ithorots-Olhaïby zu bilden . Das1 st August 1973 (durch Präfekturdekret vom 20. Juli 1973), nimmt die Gemeinde Aroue wiederum Ithorots-Olhaïby auf, um die neue Gemeinde Aroue-Ithorots-Olhaïby zu bilden .
Ithorots ist Teil der baskischen Provinz von Soule .
Sein baskischer Name ist Ithorrotze . Jean-Baptiste Orpustan weist darauf hin, dass Ithorots „Quelle, kalte Quelle“ bedeuten könnte.
